CUT-OUT-ANKLE BOOTS

I was out shopping with my husband recently and casually asked, “Have you seen where the blazers are in this store?”

Without missing a beat, he looked at me and said, “Why do you need a blazer when it’s 90 degrees outside?”

And honestly… he wasn’t wrong. He’s very logical like that. He always brings things back to the weather, the timing, the practicality of it all.

But in my mind, I wasn’t shopping for today. I was already thinking ahead—to fall.

That’s usually how it goes for me. When I spend money, it’s almost always on what I call my “B’s”:

Bags
Blazers
Blouses
Boots

And somehow, no matter how many I already own, I always seem to find room for just one more. It’s like they quietly justify themselves in my closet later.

We actually have friends who shop a different set of “S’s,” which always makes me smile:

Shirts
Shoes
Sweaters
Swimwear

It’s funny how everyone kind of develops their own rhythm with style. I really do think part of personal style is just knowing what you love and leaning into it instead of fighting it.

For me, it’s always been about blazers and boots.

And speaking of boots… my next stop is definitely a new pair of booties. I’ve been thinking that some cut-out ankle boots would look amazing with a couple of my shift dresses. That mix of structured and easy always feels like a good balance to me—put together, but still relaxed enough for everyday life.
