WINTER AT HOME

The winter season in the Midwest can sometimes take its toll on the things we hold dear. It’s a rare winter if your day isn’t affected at some point—whether the school is closed or your commute to work takes longer than usual.

The rooftops and trees are snow-covered and the streets often look deserted. But if you meander into town you will usually see it is packed with people.

Popular winter hotspots here are restaurants, museums, antique stores, and coffee shops.

This season doesn't seem to phase our adorable cockapoos who enjoy getting outside to romp in the snow for a few minutes before turning inside to lay in front of the fireplace.

Chilly days can be refreshing to us too!

We enjoy getting out to the community parks.

There’s something relaxing about watching the geese as they find a patch of water that has not frozen over.

And around here they find open water wherever they can. I  guess one might think that Winter in the Midwest is beautiful and frustrating all at the same time.
